Speakers’ Bureau FAQ:
- How far in advance should I request a speaker?
The earlier you submit your speaker request, the higher the likelihood that HEAL will be able to fulfill your request. The latest you may submit our Speaker Request Form is no later than six weeks prior to your event.
- Can I request a specific speaker?
You may request a specific speaker using our request form. However, please note that final speaker assignments are contingent upon speakers’ availability and requesting a specific speaker does not guarantee their assignment to your event.
- How long is the typical presentation?
Presentations are typically one hour in length but may vary depending on the set-up of a given event. Some of our speakers are able to provide multi-day workshops.
- Do you allow for virtual presentations?
We do! If you are planning a virtual event, please indicate this on your request form.
- Do you work with survivor speakers?
Yes. Our priority is for all speaker events in which HEAL participates to include someone with a lived experience of trafficking. HEAL has taken Freedom United’s Survivor Alliance Pledge to work ethically with survivors of human trafficking. For additional information, please refer to these Event Host Guidelines.
- I am interested in joining the HEAL Speakers’ Bureau. How do I apply?
The HEAL Speakers Bureau welcomes the addition of expert resources. If you are interested in serving as a speaker for HEAL, please email info@healtrafficking.org for an application.
- What is the process for speaker fees?
We work on a sliding scale based on the budget of the requesting organization and HEAL collects a finders’ fee from speaker honorariums. When submitting the Speaker Request Form, please include the honorarium amount your organization can provide and, for in-person events, also indicate whether your organization is able to cover speakers’ travel and lodging expenses.
Please communicate directly with the Speakers’ Bureau Coordinator regarding all matters related to payment.
