HEAL’s Training Assessment Rubric
HEAL’s Assessment Tool is a self-scoring rubric for evaluating anti-trafficking training for health professionals, ensuring comprehensive and improved curricula.

What is the Assessment Tool?
HEAL’s Assessment Tool is a self-scoring rubric that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of anti-trafficking curriculum. Designed specifically for those creating basic training on human trafficking for health professionals, this tool serves two primary purposes:
- Assessing the comprehensiveness of the training
- Identifying areas for improvement
What's Included?
The rubric covers five essential categories:
- Design
- Overview: Definitions, Types of Trafficking, Dynamics, and Vulnerability Factors
- Health Impact
- Identification and Assessment
- Response and Follow-Up
How to Use?
Within each category, you'll find questions targeting crucial components for comprehensive training on human trafficking. Simply mark a check (√) for each "Yes" answer and leave it blank for "No" responses. Total the checks in each category to calculate a category score. Sum these scores for an overall score, with a maximum of 37. These scores pinpoint strengths and areas needing improvement in your training or project, helping you assess its alignment with trauma-informed and survivor-informed principles.
