HEAL Direct Services – Beyond Helping: Aftercare for Empowerment

A virtual round table hosted by Chab Dai’s Global Learning Community.

No one is an expert in a survivor’s healing. And while we try and help, we can never truly understand the personal journey of each person’s trauma. Any credit of their survival belongs to them.

On this call with our Global Learning Community Partners from around the world we discussed the need for new paradigms Beyond Helping – and into Aftercare for Empowerment. We looked at some of the historic weaknesses in what has become a traditional model of aftercare and that passion has often been a substitute for professionalism.
