First Major Health System Commits to Deliver SOAR Trainings to all Employees
On March 13, 2019, CHI St. Luke’s has made human trafficking training mandatory for all of their employees and they will be the first major health system to formally incorporate the HHS SOAR to Health and Wellness training into their own Learning Management System (LMS).
The SOAR trainings are free, online, and accredited training on human trafficking that were developed in collaboration with health care providers, victim assistance organizations, and survivors of human trafficking. These trainings equip professionals with skills to identify, treat, and provide trauma-informed responses to human trafficking. In FY 2018, more than 5,000 individuals received the HHS SOAR training nationally. Ninety-three percent of the participants had a high or very high confidence in their ability to identify and respond to human trafficking after completing the SOAR training.
