Raising awareness alone is not sufficient to prevent human trafficking. Coordinated, community-based approaches that are customized to address a range of vulnerabilities across diverse groups may prevent human trafficking before it begins. A policy brief developed by the Research-to-Policy Collaboration, Penn State Child Maltreatment Solutions Network, Global Alliance for Behavioral Health and Social Justice, National Prevention Science Coalition, and HEAL Trafficking with support from the Society for Community Research and Action.
